Benito Hernández is a Zapotec from the Sierra Norte region of Oaxaca. He has lived most of his life in Oaxaca City. He holds a degree from the Universidad Autonoma Benito Juarez and has over 18 years experience working as a guide. He is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna as well as the history, culture and traditions of this land, and he loves sharing his cultural heritage with visitors from all over the world. He is an avid birder and photographer, and has been co-leading birding trips with Mark Pretti of Mark Pretti Nature Tours since 2007.
